About Us
Welcome to
The Happy House!
We’re Molly and Derek Linton, and The Happy House is really just an extension of who we are.
Our story started right here in Oxford. Derek was born and raised here, and Molly was born in Oxford but grew up in Massachusetts. She came back to attend Ole Miss—and, well, she never left.
We actually met at the Library Sports Bar on the Square, where Molly was Derek’s bartender. And somewhere along the way, we built a life, a family, and a home that has become our favorite place to be.
Today, we’re raising our three kids—Barry, Rocco and Lucky—and our house is almost always full. Friends, family, kids, people from out of town...we’ve always been the ones hosting, inviting people in, and somehow ending up with a house full of people.
Eventually, it became an ongoing joke.
And the name stuck. The Happy House.
Because as cliché as it sounds, there really is nowhere we’d rather be than home. We feel incredibly blessed to have a great home life, and we genuinely love being together as a family. Home is our favorite place to be.
So when we started thinking about The Happy House, the name didn’t have to be invented. It was already ours.
The idea came from our own experiences traveling. Every time we would go somewhere, we’d think about how nice it would be to arrive and have everything we needed already waiting for us. No grocery store. No running around. No figuring out dinner after a long day.

And, if you know Derek, you know that he REALLY doesn’t like grocery shopping. We thought, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone could just take care of all of that?”
That’s where The Happy House was born.
We wanted to create something that makes visiting Oxford easier, more comfortable, and a whole lot more fun. A place where you can order breakfast for the morning, snacks for the weekend, groceries waiting in the fridge, game-day goodies, or a meal for the whole crew—and all you have to do is show up and enjoy your time together.
Derek has been part of Oxford’s food scene since 2011, when he started selling crawfish here. That eventually grew into Crawdaddy’s, our family-owned restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama. Food and hospitality have been a huge part of our lives ever since.
The Happy House is another way for us to share that same passion for serving customers. Whether you’re coming to Oxford for an Ole Miss game, reconnecting with friends and family from out of town, bringing your family for a weekend, or celebrating something special, we want you to feel taken care of from the moment you arrive.
Because that’s what the Happy House has always been about. Come as you are. Bring your people. Show up. We’ll take care of the rest.
Welcome to The Happy House.
